When your title is “security evangelist,” you need a place to preach. Online Tech is excited to again offer Duo Security’s Mark Stanislav a virtual pulpit to share his knowledge.
Stanislav will co-host, with Online Tech’s own systems support manager Steve Aiello, a webinar entitled Encryption at the Hardware and Storage Level at 2 p.m EDT on Tuesday (today!).
The webinar is the third in a series of presentations focused on encryption. Slides and a replay of the first two (Encryption: Perspective on Privacy, Security & Compliance and Encryption at the Software Level: Linux and Windows) are available on our webinar page.
Aiello and Stanislav will discuss how encryption can be applied at various levels from the hardware and storage perspective to mitigate risk of data loss or breach.
The content goes beyond the tutorial level and includes and includes some of the considerations for choosing the most appropriate method of encryption to employ. Impacts on performance, backup, security, and available resources may suggest very different encryption implementations.
“It’s easy to start throwing around terms or how we do things, but the why is also hugely important,” said Stanislav, whose career includes working with small business, academia, startups and corporate environments, primarily focused on Linux architecture, information security, and web application development. He holds CISSP, Security+, Linux+, and CCSK certifications.
Aiello is an employee of Online Tech, the leader in secure and compliant data center hosting. He was promoted from Senior Systems Engineer to Systems Support Manager in October 2012. Along with his day-to-day duties, Aiello helps manage Online Tech’s Corporate Security Policies and Procedures.
His certifications include CISSP, ISACA CISA, VMware VCP, Cisco CCNA, Comptia Security+, and Certified Incident Responder.
